Deadly Beginnings (Kinncaid Brothers) by Jaycee Clark
Jaycee Clark is best known for her Deadly books, a series of romantic suspense novels featuring the very sexy Kinncaid brothers. But before Aiden, Ian, Brayden, Gavin, and Quinlan there was Jock Kinncaid, the charismatic patriarch to the Kinncaid family, and Kaitlyn O’Reilly, the woman who captured his heart forever.
Kaitlyn O’Reilly, an RN, believed she’d found love with the charming and well-liked surgeon she’d met at work. Landon Goldburg was kind, attentive, and she thought they had so much in common. Now engaged, the good doctor has quickly become the man of her nightmares. As he grows more controlling and violent, Kaitlyn wants her freedom.
Jock Kinncaid can’t stop thinking about the quietly beautiful—and engaged—redhead he met at a fund-raising gala months ago. He knows a spitfire lurks beneath the surface of this woman who’s invaded his dreams, and he knows she’s exactly what’s been missing from his otherwise ideal life. When a chance meeting throws the two of them together again, Jock swears he won’t let her get away this time.
But even as Jock vows to protect the woman he loves and Kaitlyn struggles to trust Jock and the passion between them, the deranged doctor is bent on destroying them both, even if it means killing the only thing he loves.
Excellent.
Just my kind of book. Weirdo has the girl, good guy gets the girl and lives happily ever after. This is an excellent one to start with if your like me and haven't read the deadly series, also listed as 0.5 in the series it was released after the other 5. The story centres around Jock Kinncaid and how he saves Kaitlyn O’Reilly and the birth of Aiden ( Aidens story, first 1 of the series https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... )
I must read for romantic thriller lovers.
Just the right amount scary moments and steamy scenes. I'm sure am going to love the rest of the series, I've just started book 1

Silencing Sapphire by Mia Thompson.
Product Description
While setting her sights on a new serial killer, Beverly Hills heiress and vigilante, Sapphire Dubois, fights to cancel the wedding of the season in the sequel to the bestselling New Adult Thriller STALKING SAPPHIRE.As a new serial killer dubbed the “Stripper Slayer” plagues Los Angeles, Sapphire once again sheds her socialite persona, this time to go undercover as a penniless stripper. Struggling to find the brutal man before he slays again, Sapphire finds that the thin wall separating her double life is cracking. Her family and friends expect her to walk down the aisle with the most eligible bachelor among the Beverly Hills elite; a man she doesn’t want. Meanwhile, the man she does want, handsome Detective Aston Ridder, is making her life hell as he closes in on the Serial Catcher’s trail.
Sapphire scrambles to keep the chaos at bay, unaware that someone else is tracking her as well. A serial killer from her past is back and will stop at nothing to get his vengeance.
This is book 2 in the Sapphire series and I loved this one too. So funny. Sapphires love life is a disaster but her ability to catch the serial killers is first class. She's put Aston in an impossible position and made herself a social outcast. Mia you're fast becoming my favourite author.

Don't Look Away by Leslie Kelly
CAN A MURDER VICTIM'S OWN MEMORIES BE USED TO SOLVE A CRIME? Detective Veronica Sloan isn’t shocked by much. Having lived through the worst terrorist attacks in history—which destroyed much of Washington, D.C.—she’s immune to even the most vicious brutality. But even she is stunned by the discovery of a murder in the basement of the under-reconstruction White House. Sloan and FBI Agent Jeremy Sykes have been assigned to investigate the homicide because the victim was a participant in a top-secret experiment. Veronica has been training for just this kind of case, waiting to use her special skills, anxious to learn if a recording device implanted in a victim’s head can help solve their murder….before the killer strikes again.
I gave this 4 stars, its set in the future (2017) after the white house is destroyed. Detective Veronica Sloan has to investigate a murder when a headless corpse of a young woman is found. Plenty of twists and turns, grusome murders aplenty, a great read

Ready to Die (book 5) By Lisa Jackson
Description
Nothing
His blood quickens as he stares at the photographs. Six faces, all guilty--and detectives Regan Pescoli and Selena Alvarez are at the top of his list. One by one, he'll stalk them, then he'll squeeze the trigger, savoring the way each lifeless body crumples to the reddening snow. One down already. And then there were five. . .
Can Prepare You
Sheriff Dan Grayson lies near death after a shooting, and the police department of Grizzly Falls, Montana, is in shock. Alvarez, torn between a new relationship and her loyalty to Grayson, works with Pescoli to whittle down the list of suspects. The deeper they go, the more personal and dangerous the case becomes. Then a prominent judge's body is found and the killer sends a sinister warning to the press: "Who's Next?"
To Face A Killer
Pescoli isn't waiting to find out. Headstrong and eager for justice, she'll track the scant clues on her own if she has to. But her search leads her straight to a monster who has had her in his sights all along. And when hunter meets prey, both must be willing to kill--and ready to die. . .
“A pure nail
biter.”—Harlan Coben, New York Times

“Shiveringly good suspense!” —Lisa
Gardner, New York Times bestselling author on You Don’t Want to

“A nail-biting tale of dangerous secrets and deadly passions.”—Booklist on Devious

This was good, I'd never read anything by Lisa Jackson before and so I
haven't read any of the books in the series leading upto this one. I
caught the jist of what had happen previously as Lisa filled in the
blanks without being bogged down with too much detail from the previous
books. Only thing I would say is the gap between the murders and the
'who dunnit' bit was alittle to long for me and my mind was wandering on
what to read next instead of finishing this first. I did enjoy it and I
would read the next one.

Stalking Sapphire: A Thriller by Mia Thompson
Despite the illusion Sapphire Dubois presents to the rest of the world,
she is not just your stereotypical 22-year old Beverly Hills heiress;
she hunts serial killers. While her fellow heirs spend their nights with
trending celebs and drugs at the hottest club, Sapphire secretly spends
hers luring, capturing, and anonymously handing over So-Cal’s most
wanted killers to the police — just your average Tuesday night.
What Sapphire doesn’t know is that one of her adversaries is watching her every move, aware of both her true identity and her unconventional hobby. Needless to say, he doesn’t approve. Used to being the one who redefines the definition of predator and prey, Sapphire’s world abruptly shatters when a gruesome ‘gift’ arrives for her at the Beverly Hills Country Club. With her involuntary crush, handsome Detective Aston Ridder, close on her tail, Sapphire now has to rethink her routine strategy and figure out how to capture a killer who already knows she’s coming.
Well so far I'm enjoying this book, I'm on chapter 4 so if you'll excuse me, I've got a book to read.
OK so 4 days later and I'm back, I loved this book, I liked the style, I enjoyed the characters and I'm so pleased this is book 1 of a series, I want to know what happens next.
I give it 4 STARS
