Heat Wave by Sara Orwig

Marilee O’Neil isn’t one to turn down a challenge, not even when it’s to pilot a friend’s hot air balloon in a race. But when she’s forced to change course and make an unexpected landing on a wheat farm, Marilee’s overconfidence gets the better of her, and she ends up in the middle of a swimming pool, giving the handsome sunbathing farmer quite a shock! But Cole Chandler takes surprise in stride, gallantly rescuing Marilee from her soggy landing, and instantly setting her body afire. Though Marilee tries to resist their growing attraction, she can’t deny that it isn’t just the summer heat that has her on the edge.

A nice read with the action starting from the very first page when Marilee crashes her hot air balloon into Coles pool.  I love the banter between them and there's quite a spark from the beginning but this book was written in the 80's and there is where it should have stayed.  If its going to be re-released it should have had a modern revamp.  This book has left me wanting... (bit like Marilee!)  I'm sure if you brought it into the 'New Adult' genre it could be a 3.5 to 4 stars but sadly its a 2 for me.

Westin's Chase. A Titan Novel 3 by Cristin Harber

Description

THE MASTER OF EVERYTHING HAS FOUND HIS MATCH
Jared Westin knows his reputation and likes it. He gets the job done. No emotion. No baggage. That’s why his elite ops company, The Titan Group, is better than the best. They complete projects classified as mission impossible.

And then, in walks a woman as tough as she is sexy. His counterpart in every way, should he choose to admit it.

SHE’S NOT WILLING TO LET HER HEART FALL
Ousted undercover ATF agent Lilly Chase only answers to “Sugar.” Jared is the only man who can see past her leather-and-lipstick demeanor, and that revelation is terrifying. She was fired for helping Titan on a questionable arrest she should’ve ignored, then partnered with Jared’s rival on an assignment in Afghanistan.

Distance and danger do nothing to change her feelings. When she’s left on the side of a mountain to die, an unexpected ally comes forward, and might open her heart.

THE STAKES COULDN’T BE HIGHER
Saving Sugar isn’t a normal rescue operation. It pits Titan against its rival, Jared against his nemesis. Chasing Sugar’s heart isn’t a simple task, either. She fights him, fights them, always ready to run. When she becomes a pawn in a game of collateral damage, Jared must risk his life to save her—the woman whose bravado and surprising sweetness has given him the one thing he never had. Love.

Book 3 in the Titan series and this one is just as good as the others.

Jared has met his match with Sugar, trying to keep her safe from a rival company and then to discover a traitor in the Titan camp is nearly too much for Jared to handle.

This has to be my favourite so far,

Sugar loves pushing 'boss mans' buttons and she's driving him crazy with her running away routine.

It's an all action read from the first page and you can't put it down till your finished

Brilliant, action packed 5 stars

Domino Effect by Jill Elaine Hughes

Peter Rostovich is an enigmatic international artist with ties to the Russian mafia. He manipulates everyone he comes in contract with and nobody can figure him out—not even himself. More than that, he has a taste for bondage, which he infuses into his art.
Virginal Nancy Delaney is an aspiring reporter who tries to crack Peter’s shell. His work is like nothing she’s ever seen—complete with a live sculpture that gets the exhibit shut down by the police.
Peter hates reporters, but Nancy captivates him to the point where he makes her part of his exhibit within seconds of meeting her. He introduces her to the world of BDSM, but his involvement in the criminal underworld puts Nancy in the sights of his fiercest enemy.

A quick fast paced read with never a boring moment to be found but could have been better if more thought had gone into some of the smaller details.  There were a few contradictions in the story and the fact that Nancy has gone from Virgin to Dominatrix in just a matter of a few days was just unbelievable and the fact that there is no real emotion to being taken against her will into the sex trade was disappointing.  I also thought Julian the Navy Seal Concierge would have helped Peter save the day but sadly not, seems so far he's destine to be stuck behind a desk at The Ritz !

Wrecked by Priscilla West

Description

A New Adult Romance Novel by USA Today Bestselling Author Priscilla West
“There would be no happy ending for us. He was too damaged. I was too broken.”
Two years ago, Lorrie’s mother was murdered. But that wasn’t the end of it. Reeling from the tragedy, Lorrie’s father spiraled into alcohol, depression, and finally suicide.
The two most important people in Lorrie’s life are both gone but she’s still alive.
Trying to recover from the tragedy, Lorrie returns to campus, ready to pick up the pieces of her life. All Lorrie wants is to get back to “normal.”
Then she meets Hunter. The man, the legend, “The Hammer.”
Hunter is a cage fighter who takes on every fight like he’s got nothing to lose. His life is a tangled mess of girls, booze, and fist fights. And while it may seem like he’s got a devil-may-care attitude, he’s fighting a private cage-match with a monster he can’t defeat.
Lorrie knows that Hunter is exactly the type of guy she should stay away from, especially in her fragile state, but Hunter has other ideas.
As Hunter and Lorrie grow closer together, will they be able to overcome their pain and heal each other? Or will they both end up wrecked?
GENRE: Mature New Adult Romance (18+)
LENGTH: Novel, 350 pgs
RESCUED (WRECKED BOOK TWO: Coming Early 2014)

This started off so well.
Lorrie back at college after her mum is murdered by her step dad and her dad kills himself, shes trying to get back to normal when in a freak accident she ends up falling into a frozen lake.  Trapped under the ice she thinks she'll surely die until shes rescued by the handsome Hunter Jensen.
I was gripped, this sounded like a must read ... and then it fizzled out.
I don't have any idea what Lorrie looks like, I can't remember if the author has actually described her and far to much time was wasted messing around with a box of abandoned kittens.  The chemistry was just fine between Hunter and Lorrie there was no need for the kittens.
It was a struggle not to abandon this book at 76% but if I had I'd never have found out about Hunter, which I'm pleased I stuck with it but sadly its just not going to make me buy book 2 :(
